Maybe opposition politicians have learnt to stay away from public functions that are not within their domain. For many of them, traveling to Bayelsa is not just worth it, no matter the desire to project goodwill messages across political borders. Governor Yakowa and General Azazi (RIP) helicopter crash comes to mind. Casual public functions like the wedding of President Jonathan's foster daughter holding in Bayelsa is a security threat to opposition politicians.
