Islamic authorities in Selangor, peninsular Malaysia raided the premises of the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) seizing and desecrating over 300 copies of the Holy Bible written in Iban and Malay-language.
Information released indicates it was a raid conducted by rouge members of the Islamic department and the Malaysian police. It was conducted in a way that would have allowed the government distance it self, if the operation went wrong because the raiders threatened violence/destruction if they were not allowed to enter the premises. They went away with over 300 copies of Malay and Iban Bibles. It also appears the raid happened after the Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister, Muhyiddin Yassin, a staunch, putrid religious bigot visited his political party's office in Selangor last night to lend his support for the ban and persecution.

There has been a debate for some time over the Arabic word "Allah", a word that pre-dates Islam and the Malay claimers. Malay-Muslims want the word exclusively for Islam in addition to 35 other Arabic words and phrases that have been "patented" by Malaysian Muslims under the Non-Islamic Religions (Control of Propagation Among Muslims) Enactment 1988 that prohibits non-Muslims in Selangor State from using The words and phrases
As expected, the Malaysian Christian leaders went early 90s Mandela on their violent/bigoted Muslim behinds, calling for calm and understanding from the Christian community. The Bible Society President even said the raiders were doing their job suggested a better communication link be created between the federal government and the Islamic department, asking the government/Prime minister to keep it words on a ten point solution proffered back in 2011.
These are the kind of things that make non-Muslim working adult Malaysians consider migration. I say no, stay in Malaysia and fight for your right come what may. Live a happy non-Muslim life and prosper in their faces, raise your kids, grow old and retire in Malaysia. Running away to Australia etc does not help, it adds to the problem as this rewards the aggressor. Come out and vote during elections, demand your rights at the slightest attempt of taking it away from you and when push turns to shove, defend yourself and form international alliances. Sounds difficult but that's how it should be.
