Smoke haze from fires in Indonesia continues to cause havoc in Malaysia. Two areas in Johor, a southern Malaysian state have declared a state of emergency, after air pollution levels reached 750 when dangerous conditions are considered if the figure gets to 300.
It is alleged that some Indonesian companies are illegally burning forests and other land on the Indonesian island of Sumatra and this has caused air quality levels to reach dangerous levels in the southern part of Malaysia and in Singapore. Conditions are expected to improve in the coming days.
