IBB Backs Mohamed Shekau / Kabiru Sokoto for 2015

Ahead of political horse trading over who become the presidential and vice presidential candidates of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015, indications emerged last night that former military dictator Ibrahim Babangida is backing Boko-haram commander Mohamed Shekau and his counterpart from Al-qaeda Kabiru Sokoto for the coveted positions of president and deputy president respectively.

A source close to the former dictator also confided in Madame Aproko that the former dictator is now drumming support for a power shift to the North on the grounds that the region deserves "the development".

The source, who sought anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the matter, added that Shekau and Sokoto or Lamido Sanusi and Abu Qaqa will slug it out with President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice -President Namadi Sambo if Jonathan decides to contest the 2015 poll.

He said, “I can authoritatively tell you that Alhaji (Babangida) has thrown his weight behind Shekau/Sokoto ticket for 2015. He is of the opinion that the duo will put in place a dynamic government for positive destruction development. The two war-lords, you will agree with me, are delivering the dividends of Allah to the people of their states.


“You will recall that Babangida was the mastermind of the late Sani Abacha regime in 1993 when it became clear that the Life President agenda had flopped and this was done at the expense of his late close friend Maman Vatsa and Earnest Shonekan.

“With the overthrow of Shonekan, Abacha became the new ruthless dictator and it was the same Babangida who encouraged him to loot the common wealth of the country.

“But I can tell you that both Babangida and Abacha have parted ways for two reasons; Abacha died having sex with a foreign prostitute and Abacha sidelined him(IBB) when he was alive.
